At Washtenaw Promise, every season brings new stories—of progress, partnership, and possibility. This is where we share the latest updates from our programs, celebrate community events, and shine a light on the people who make our work meaningful.
Whether we’re launching a new initiative, gathering for a neighborhood celebration, or highlighting a moment of impact, we hope you’ll follow along. There’s always something inspiring in the works—and always a way to get involved.

Earlier this month, Washtenaw Promise welcomed teachers, volunteers, supporters, community leaders, and friends to The Woodlands at Bruin Lake for a special evening celebrating the people and partnerships that continue to advance our mission.
Guests gathered to enjoy the beauty of The Woodlands, connect with fellow supporters, and learn more about the ongoing work of Washtenaw Promise and the Thriving Educator Institute. The evening served as both a thank you to those who have helped shape the organization over the years and a reflection on the impact this work continues to have on students and educators across Michigan.
During the program, Washtenaw Promise co-founders Tim Wilson and Bob Ufer spoke about the vision that helped launch the organization and the importance of continuing to invest in young people, educators, and communities. Scott Heister also shared updates on the Thriving Educator Institute and the meaningful programming taking place at The Woodlands to support teachers in both their professional and personal growth.
Throughout the evening, speakers emphasized that none of this work happens alone. From volunteers and workshop participants to donors, educators, and community partners, the event was a reminder that lasting change is built through collaboration, generosity, and shared purpose.
Washtenaw Promise is deeply grateful to everyone who joined us for this memorable evening and to all who continue to help move this mission forward.
